



Elyssa Nicole Fontes is a New England native who travels cross country to showcase her art and music. After graduating from Umass Boston with a BA in African American studies and sociology Elyssa performed in many productions including modeling in Yeezy Season 3 and 4. Elyssa finally released her debut album L.A.W : Love Always Wins in January 2017. She also stared in a documentary with ColorWave Productions in early 2017. With summer on its way, Elyssa has some upcoming productions including an album entitled Fun. After speaking with Elyssa she mentioned how having love and having fun are some of the most important things to her and that's what she wants to spread. With L.A.W already available for her fans on iTunes, Fun with be released with a small twist. A visual experience. With some much in store for Elyssa she is also planning on starring in some more films while promoting her already-released packages. Look out for extraordinary work throughout the year by Ms. Fontes

'On Black' is a segment where we ask professionals how being a person of color effects their everyday life. Topics that are discussed include, the worlds perception of black women, discrimination in the 21st century, empowerment for the sisters and future aspirations. The point of this segment is to show real life opinions and perspectives of black women living in America today.
Kamanda Ngu
Kamanda Ngu is a model and fashion designer who incorporates her culture into her craft. Kamanda is originally from Cameroon, a country in Central Africa. After moving to the states 2004, Kamanda faced discrimination not only because of her skin color but because of her culture. She expressed that it was hard for her to feel accepted when she was always being judged for being too dark, for being too skinny or for speaking differently. The beauty in Kamanda's story comes from her thriving attitude and her ability to face all of the odds. Kamanda recently released her clothing line called 69Designs. Although some of the pieces may target the "grown & sexy," Kamanda's objective is to promote business for black women. She's says she's makes clothes for women like herself and hopefully she can inspire them to do the same, in their own way. Because of Kamanda's fashion background she has been taking various avenues to show her craft. She has also become a vlogger showcasing beauty tutorials. Sydney-Elise Washington
Sydney Elise Washington is a young leader from Brockton, MA. Just two years ago, after turning 20 and graduating from the University of Hartford, Sydney became a kindergarten teacher. In 2016 she decided that she wanted to influence an older crowd by switching to middle school education. Sydney says that it is important for this generation to be lead in a positive way. She goes on to say how she "just wants to lift them up and show them that they can do anything they dream of." Aside from teaching Sydney also publishes her own work. Starting off as a poet and opening up for various events, Sydney has now evolved into a blogger and activist. In all, Sydney wants to spread positive influence through all of her gifts from teaching the youth to telling her story through art. 2017 will bring countless opportunities for you check out her work and understand her story!
