Shaamel Bates is a journalist from Colombia, South Carolina. She traveled up north to Boston to to pursue a degree in digital journalism. Shaamel has created her own blog which dives deep into the issues that black women face. But her voice in her writing is what displays not only her personal challenges but what those like her face. Shaamel jumped on the opportunity to bring her skills to a different platform. Sista' uncovers a different level of contrast because it discusses reality. It is more social, yet influential because to sisters can come together and express error and change.
